When the deposit is received, the financing process will begin. In the event that financing is denied, we will refund 100% of the deposit.

Veterans Affair Grants

Program Description

There is a one-time payment by the VA toward the purchase of an automobile or other transportation. VA also pays for adaptive equipment, or for repair, replacement, and reinstallation of automobile equipment required because of disability. These payments may be made multiple times during the veteran’s life.

General Program Requirements:

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must have one of the following disabilities that are the result of injury or disease incurred or aggravated during active service:

Permanent loss of use of at least one foot or hand, or Serious, permanent vision impairment in both eyes. If you have alkalosis (stiff or immobile joint) of at least one knee or hip due to a service-connected disability, you may qualify for adaptive equipment, without the automobile grant. You can qualify for this benefit even if you’re still on active duty. If you’re a veteran, your discharge must have been given under other than dishonorable conditions. There is no requirement as to length of service.

National Guard and Reserve members who were activated for federal military service and later separated are considered to be veterans. Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are considered to be active duty members and veterans, once discharged.

To apply for this program, call 1-800-827-1000 and request the form “Application for Automobile or Other Conveyance and Adaptive Equipment” (VA Form 21-4502) be mailed to you. Fill out the form and return it to VA, as indicated on the form, and you will be notified regarding you eligibility status.

Community Living Assistance and Support Services

The eligibility for C.L.A.S.S. includes:

Financial eligibility is determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
There is not an age limit, but the onset of the disability must have been before the age 22.
Have a DADS-approved initial individual service plan that does not exceed the program’s cost ceiling.
Meet ICF/MR level of care criteria.
Have a demonstrated need for ongoing habilitation services.
Have chosen the CLASS program over an ICF/MR program.

To apply for this service:

Call toll-free to 1-877-438-5658 to be placed on the interest list. This service may not be available right away. Once you or the person in need is placed on the interest list, you will be contacted when services are available.

Please be prepared to provide Social Security and Medicaid numbers, type of disability, age of the onset of the disability, date of birth, address and telephone number of you or the person to be placed on the interest list.
